Blackhouse Farm, Eyemouth, Scottish Borders

System Size: 500 kW

Expected Annual Generation: 1,500,000 kWh

Locogen acted as developer for this medium-scale wind project in the Scottish Borders, offering a competitive lease to the local farmer.

Locogen carried out all the pre-application feasibility works and stakeholder consultations, before securing consent for the wind turbine with the local planners. This involved detailed discussions with the planning department pre- and post-submission.

Planning consent was first secured for a 500kW wind turbine with a height to blade tip of 70m. This was subsequently increased to 74m, allowing Locogen to erect an Enercon E48 and maximise the operational returns of the site.
